Each of us is the sum of our experiences in life. The secret is discovering how those experiences interrelate. I have had many careers and life experiences and they have all brought to where I am today. I have worked in business, education and mental well-being. I am an integrative counsellor and believe that different approaches suit different people and tailor my approach to each person. My philosophy is Person-Centred and I believe that client and counsellor are equal partners in the therapeutic process. I offer professional counselling in the areas described below.
Grief is the emotion we feel when an important relationship ends (or is interrupted). Commonly the ending is caused by death, but grief can also be felt when a relationship is lost as a result of divorce, relocation, fire or theft. Grief and Bereavement effects each of us in different ways, and often affects diverse aspects of a person's life.
Managing anxiety, stress, depression or anger can often feel like a heavy burden which can affect your health, mood and quality of life! Coming forward for treatment requires immense courage. With the right support you can create lasting, powerful changes in career, business, relationships and life.
Addiction is the need for a substance or behaviour that feels out of control. It is a habit that involves the building up tolerance, often experienced as always needing more to feel satisfied. Addiction affects both the brain and the body, seriously disrupting people's efforts to live a satisfying life. Addiction is a subjective illness that may affect each of us in different ways.
By understanding each client’s individual situation, I can determine an appropriate and effective intervention to enable them to understand, accept and move on from their traumatic experiences. As a Trauma informed practitioner, I create an environment that promotes healing, recovery, and resilience by understanding and responding to the unique needs and challenges faced by individuals who have experienced trauma.
The first step in therapy is talking. Let's find a time where we can meet and talk about what's on your mind.
